Thick fog lingered over the mountains at the Sochi Olympics on Monday, forcing the postponement of a biathlon race and snowboard event until Tuesday. The biathlon race, which had already been pushed back from Sunday evening, will now be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., organizers said. ''Well, I am going to sleep again,'' double Olympic champion Martin Fourcade tweeted in French after the race was postponed. Women's race director Atle Skaardal said the fog could still affect that event if it remains.

Michael Schumacher’s doctors have started the process of bringing the former Formula One champion out of the coma he has been in since a skiing accident a month ago, his manager said Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014. French investigators have ruled out any criminal wrongdoing in the debilitating ski accident of Formula One great Michael Schumacher, a state prosecutor said Monday. Albertville prosecutor Patrick Quincy said ''no infraction by anyone has been turned up'' and the probe has been closed, his office said in a statement - responding to questions about whether the Meribel ski station in the French Alps or an equipment maker might have had some role in Schumacher's injury. Schumacher has been treated at Grenoble University Hospital in southeastern France since then. Quincy's office said the rock that caused Schumacher to fall was 10.4 meters (34 feet) away from another rock upon which he hit his head - and each were more than 4 meters away from the edge of the red-level piste that he was on.

East gets by Durant, Griffin to win All-Star game (Yahoo Sports)

NEW ORLEANS, LA - FEBRUARY 16: Kyrie Irving #2 of the Eastern Conference All-Stars drives against Stephen Curry #30 of the Western Conference All-Stars during the 2014 NBA All-Star Game as part of the 2014 All-Star Weekend at Smoothie King Center on February 15, 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana. From the first play to the final minute, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving made it clear how the East felt about this All-Star game. Irving had 31 points and 14 assists and was voted the MVP, Carmelo Anthony made a record eight 3-pointers and scored 30 points, and the East stopped a three-game losing streak with a 163-155 victory over the West on Sunday night in the highest-scoring All-Star game ever. Fed up with losing the midseason game and tired of the East being picked on for its mediocrity this season, James had a steal and dunk on the first possession, long before defense usually shows up in the All-Star game. ''They beat us the last three years and they had a lot of bragging rights, so to be able to come through being down 18 was huge.'' Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin each finished with 38 points, four shy of Wilt Chamberlain's All-Star game record, for the West.
